More than 1,000 workers of railway enterprises are leaving their jobs
December 25th will be the last working day for almost 1,100 workers of three railway enterprises – “Srbija kargo”, “Infrastruktura zeleznice” and “Zeleznice Srbije”, the “Vecernje novosti” daily reports.
Majority of employees will leave their job voluntarily, and some of them will be forced to leave their companies via social program.
As specified, the largest number of workers, about 770, is leaving “Srbija kargo”, about 320 will leave “Infrastruktura zeleznice” and around 20 will leave “Zeleznice Srbije.” There is no surplus of employees in “Srbija voz.”
Workers can choose between one of two severance calculations, a 50 percent increased three-month average of gross salary per year service or EUR240 for each year spent in that enterprise.
The amount of EUR240 per year of service is a protective mechanism for workers with small coefficients, Dragan Randjelovic, President of the Serbian Railway Workers’ Trade Union, has said and the „Vecernje novosti“ daily reports.
