Tiles plant to invest EUR15 million
The largest producer of ceramic tiles in Serbia has announced an investment of EUR15 million in the new production facility and employment of new workers.
“Sabac based ceramic tiles plant “Zorka-Keramika” will invest EUR15 million in the new production facility that will enable production increase of three million square metres, as well as secure 100 new jobs,” one of the owners of the plant Markus Bogdanovic has said.
A consortium consisting of Austrian businessmen bought Sabac based “Zorka-Keramika” plant and Koceljeva-based plant for production of brick products “Zorka-Opeka” in 2004, within privatization of the industrial complex Zorka Sabac. The ceramic tile plant is currently employing 300 people, whereas the brick plant employs 60. Fifty percent of the total production is intended for export, mainly to Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Italy.
That plant is Serbia’s largest producer of ceramic tiles, with annual production of 4.2 million square metres.
