Serbian Fiat WORKING again, union workers expect the ELECTRIC model
Production of the Fiat 500L in the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Serbia (FCA) plant has continued following a two-week break, the Independent Trade Union of that plant has confirmed for Beta agency.
The President of that union, Sasa Djordjevic, said that the production continued in two shifts and in the current volume, and „400 vehicles a day will get off the lane“.
FCA production workers were sent on paid leave on May 28th.
Djordjevic said that concrete plans are expected for the Fiat plant in Serbia, which, as he added, will be foreseen by the strategic plan of the company Stellantis, which will also include plants in Turkey, Italy, Poland and other countries.
He said that strategic plan should be presented in a few months.
Regarding the perspective of production in Kragujevac, the company’s management, according to him, will make a decision after making an assessment based on demand for vehicles, as well as environmental legislation in Europe.
He is convinced that the production of a new model of electric vehicle will commence in Kragujevac based plant, but also that the company will decide on the „fate of production“ of the Fiat 500 L.
