RESIGNATION: Stojkovic is no longer professor of the Medical Faculty in Kragujevac

Serbian geneticist Miodrag Stojkovic has announced that he resigned from the position of full professor of the Medical Faculty, University of Kragujevac.

„No matter how sad one eye is, the other cannot stop smiling,“ Stojkovic wrote on Twitter.

He also published an explanation for leaving the professorship, stating that the reason for his resignation was the decision of the rector of the University of Kragujevac and the dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences to change the financing of equipment and work of the Stem Cell Research Centre and the Stem Cell Bank.

„This decision significantly deviates from the implementation of the Project approved by the Government of Serbia, which directly affects the functionality and achievement of goals. You certainly do not have to be reminded that thanks to me, Kragujevac got the project and the centre, but your decision and deviation from the project is also a deviation from the principle of good governance,“ Stojkovic said in the explanation.
