Air Serbia introduces direct flights between Belgrade and Budapest
On March 13, 2023, Air Serbia established a new regular route between Belgrade and Budapest by flight JU150 at 07:45h. During the upcoming summer season, the Serbian national airline will fly to the Hungarian capital up to 17 times a week.
“With today’s flight to Budapest, we launched the first of more than 20 destinations that we will operate during the upcoming summer season, which were not in our network in 2022. We will monitor demand and gradually increase the number of frequencies between the two cities. We believe that the introduction of direct flights will contribute to a better connection between Serbia and Hungary and significantly accelerate the movement of passengers across Europe,“ said Bosko Rupic, Director of Commercial Affairs and Strategy of Air Serbia.
The welcome reception for the first Air Serbia flight to Budapest was held at the airport Franz List, located 16 km southeast of the centre of the Hungarian capital.
Budapest is a city of long, rich and turbulent history, as evidenced by a large number of significant buildings of various epochs and styles: Gothic, Byzantine, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Neoclassical. The Budapest Metro is the second oldest in the world, and the famous Chain Bridge is the zero point from which all distances in Hungary are measured. The capital of Hungary is known for its thermal springs and numerous spas and it is one of the favourite weekend destinations of people from neighbouring countries.
With the introduction of a regular airline route between the capitals of Hungary and Serbia, Air Serbia provides passengers with the possibility of good connections from Budapest, via Belgrade to Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, the United States of America, as well as countries in the region.
