RSD 310 million for co-financing media projects

The Ministry of Information and Telecommunications has announced nine competitions for co-financing media projects for which RSD 310 million was allocated, which is the same amount as last year, said the Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS).

Unlike in 2022, the UNS added, no competition for media content in the field of culture was announced this year, so the money increased the funds for the other nine competitions.

Calls for proposals are open for co-financing media content production projects for radio, television, internet, print media and news agency services, for electronic media whose publishers are based on the territory of AP Kosovo and Metohija, for content intended for persons with disabilities, as well as for projects aimed at improving professional and ethical standards.

A competition for the production of media content in the languages of national minorities was also announced, as well as a competition for co-financing the production of media content intended for members of the Serbian people in the countries of the region.

The competitions are open until April 12, and the deadline for applications for the members of the commissions is 20 days from the date of the announcement of the competition.

The largest increase in funds compared to last year is in the call for co-financing projects for organizing and participating in professional, scientific and appropriate gatherings and improving professional and ethical standards.

This year, RSD 30 million has been allocated for this competition, RSD 12 million more than last year.

RSD 42 million was allocated for print media and news agency services, seven million more than in 2022, and RSD 75 million for television, five million more than last year.

The budget of the competition for internet media is higher by four million compared to last year and it amounts to RSD 34 million, which is allocated for radio, i.e. two million more than last year.

Decisions on the allocation of funds will be made no later than 90 days from the date of conclusion of the competition.
