Wizz Air among world’s top 10 safest low-cost airlines
Wizz Air, the airline with the highest growth rate in Europe, is ranked among top 10 safest airlines in the world in 2022 by AirlineRatings.com, the world’s only rating agency in the field of safety, products and covid 19.
When assessing 385 airlines that it monitors, AirlineRatings.com makes a decision based on factors such as incident data for the past two years, accident data for the previous five years, audit results conducted by the competent aviation authority (ICAO), lists of flight prohibitions and the age of the fleet.
Wizz Air has one of the youngest and most efficient fleets in the world, with an average age of five years.
Its fleet consists of 149 Airbus A320, A321, A320neo and A321neo aircraft. At the beginning of the pandemic, Wizz Air was among the first to introduce strict health and safety measures to protect passengers and crew, while observing the highest sanitary standards and supporting physical distance.
Wizz Air was among the first European airlines to further improve protection measures by implementing a mandatory vaccination policy against covid 19 – or regular antigen/PCR testing in special cases – for all crews.
