Will Serbia Soon Have More Tourists Than People?
The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic said today that this year, interest for tourist vouchers has been above all expectations, as was the interest of foreign tourists for Serbian destinations.
“The tourist season has started well and the number of domestic tourists is 12 percent higher, and there is 17 percent more foreign ones. At this moment, tourism capacities are 85% filled,” Ljajic told the RTS.
Foreign tourists are mostly from Balkan countries and, increasingly, from Russia. Also, for the first time, thanks to the direct airline and visa-free regime, the Chinese are ranked eight among foreign tourists in Serbia, Ljajic said.
