Vucic eliminates panic: There is more than enough of everything

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that no one should worry about the supply of food products or about the conflict in Ukraine causing shortages, and that „people should not panic because we have everything“.

Vucic told Kurir TV that there was a disturbance on the global market and in the procurement of many goods, and that „there is no doubt that Serbia will suffer the consequences as this will be the case with other countries“, but that there was enough of „bread and beans and corn not only for Serbia but also for the region“.

„People should not worry about that,“ Vucic said, adding that the news of the alleged shortages that was spreading through social networks caused increased demand, which lasted for 48 hours, and that „tomorrow, stores were again full of everything.“

Vucic added that the government „is doing a good job in this aspect“.

“We have 12 million kilos of salt at the moment, and I do not know how long it would take us to spend it. We have more than enough of everything,“ Vucic pointed out.

Asked if there was a risk of conflict in the Western Balkans, Vucic answered that „Serbia will preserve peace and stability“.

„Serbia will take care of the lives of its children. We do not need conflicts for anything, we need to make economic progress,“ Vucic said.

Countless problems due to the conflict in Ukraine and sanctions on Russia

Regarding Russia’s attack on Ukraine and the sanctions imposed for that reason, the President of Serbia said that businessmen in Serbia and the authorities had „countless problems on a daily basis“.

Vucic said that businessmen were asking how to export to Russia. „How can we export products, we cannot pass anywhere, no one allows passage,“ Vucic said.

He also said that raw materials, coke and iron from Ukraine were necessary „and these products cannot be obtained“.
