Topola “Work from Home”: Sumadija is a new destination for digital nomads
Sumadija has been recognized as a new destination for digital nomads and a region with a rich tourist offer, which is confirmed by more and more „world travellers“ interested in getting to know this destination, which offers excellent conditions for work and rest, said the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
This region was presented at the World Expo 2020 Dubai at the Serbian Pavilion by the students of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON) from Belgrade through the project Topola „Work from Home“ Hub, and the promotion attracted a large number of tourist representatives from different countries, as well as IT representatives, according to a press release of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
„We wanted to present Sumadija and Topola as places of rich history and culture to people who, under the new circumstances, due to the pandemic, work a lot from home or like to spend time in nature and experience something new. We have promoted modern hubs and work spaces, but also new experiences that the tourist potential of this region offers,“ says Nikola Bunjevic, Vice President for External Relations of the Case Study Club of FON.
Tijana Maljkovic, Secretary of the Tourism Association of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) points out that the World Expo was an opportunity for the tourism industry, which is not a basic living cost and need, but is rather considered a luxury in some way, to explain through many screenings in various languages the man’s need for cooperation, connection and discovery of new, interesting things and adventures.
