    The construction of 2,261 apartments was reported in April alone

    A total of 2,218 building permits were issued in Serbia in April this year, which is 7.6 percent more than in the same period last year, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia nnounced.

    Of the total number of issued permits, 77.8 percent were for buildings, and 22.2 percent for other construction facilities.

    If we only observe buildings, 76.2 percent of permits were issued for residential and 23.8 percent for non-residential buildings, while for other buildings the largest portion refers to pipelines, communication and power lines (71 percent).

    According to the issued permits, the construction of 2,261 apartments was reported, with an average space of ​​77.4 square meters.

    Of the total number of apartments in new residential buildings, 15.5 percent of apartments will be built in single-apartment buildings, with an average area of ​​152.2 square meters, and 81.9 percent of apartments will be built in buildings with three or more apartments and their average area will be significantly smaller, amounting to 61.1 square meters.

    The largest construction activity is expected in the region of Belgrade, 14.4 percent of the projected total value of new builds, followed by the region of Western Backa (13.2 percent), Kolubara region (11.2 percent), Srem region (7.4 percent) and Zlatibor region. (7.3 percent).
