    State budget deficit RSD 53 billion in the first two months

    In the first two months of this year, the deficit of the state budget amounted to RSD 52.9 billion, according to the Ministry of Finance.

    In this period, revenues amounted to RSD 240.1 billion, while expenditures amounted to RSD 293 billion. In February alone, deficit amounted to RSD 44.8 billion.

    In February, revenues in the amount of RSD 116.2 billion were collected, of which tax revenues amounted to RSD 105.8 billion. The biggest part of tax revenues refers to the payment of VAT in the amount of RSD 56.2 billion and excise duties in the amount of RSD 25.8 billion.

    Non-tax revenues amounted to RSD 9.8 billion, and the inflow of donations in February amounted to RSD 0.6 billion.

    In the same month, RSD 160.9 billion was spent. Expenses for employees, in February, amounted to RSD 29.5 billion, interest payments amounted to RSD 23 billion, and capital expenditures amounted to RSD 15.7 billion.

    The biggest individual item in terms of expenditures was transfers of the basic obligatory social insurance (Pension-Disability Insurance Fund, Health Insurance Fund of the Republic of Serbia, National Employment Service, Fund for the Social Insurance of Military Beneficiaries), which amounted to 48.7 billion, since a one-off aid in the amount of RSD 33.6 billion was paid to all pensioners.

    At the general government level, in the first two months, there was a deficit in the amount of RSD 50.7 billion and a primary fiscal deficit in the amount of RSD 8.4 billion.
