Serbia’s foreign trade DEFICIT almost EUR 7 billion
In 2021, the total foreign trade of Serbia amounted to 50.2 billion euros, which is 25 percent more than in the previous year, 2020.
Goods worth a total of 21.6 billion euros were exported, which is an increase of 26.8 percent, while import increased by 24.6 percent and it amounted to 28.6 billion euros, said the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.
Thus, the foreign trade deficit reached 6.98 billion euros and it was 18.3 percent higher than in 2020. The coverage of import by export was 75.6 percent. The biggest foreign trade partners were EU members, with which Serbia conducted 60.3 percent of trade.
Our second most important partners are the CEFTA countries, with which we have a trade surplus of 2.14 billion euros, and to which we mainly export petroleum and petroleum products, grains and their products, iron and steel, electrical machines and appliances, as well as beverages.
We exported goods worth 34 billion euros to CEFTA countries, and imported goods worth 1.26 billion euros.
