Serbia saves electricity: Discount for a third of households
More than a third of households in Serbia reduced electricity consumption in February compared to the same month of the previous year, thus achieving a discount for rational consumption of electricity, the Ministry of Mining and Energy announced.
The Ministry states that 1,139,558 households achieved this discount, i.e. 36.18 percent, while the total discount for rational consumption amounts to RSD 637.48 million.
The 15% discount on the February bill was granted to 18% of households, the 20% discount was granted to 6% of households, and the largest 30% discount was granted to 12% of households.
The largest reduction in electricity consumption was achieved in Belgrade, Kragujevac, Loznica, Sabac, Smederevo, Novi Sad, Zrenjanin and Sremska Mitrovica.
Citizens can get a discount of 15% on the bill if they used between 5% and 20% less electricity compared to the same month last year, a discount of 20% if they spent up to 30% less, as well as a discount of 30% for consumption that is 30% lower.
