    RECORD: Air Serbia transported more than 400,000 passengers in August

    Air Serbia announced that during August, for the second consecutive month, it managed to transport more than 400,000 passengers through the airports in Belgrade, Nis and Kraljevo.

    This is said to be the highest number of passengers transported during that month since 2013, since when the company has been operated under its current name.

    More travellers than in 2021

    The number of passengers increased by 38 percent compared to the same month in 2021, i.e. by two percent compared to August of the record pre-pandemic year of 2019. ;

    As stated, good results were achieved by charter transport, which carried almost 90,000 passengers, and in addition to charter flights, during August there was a strong movement of the diaspora from Serbia and the region, which resulted in an increase in the number of passengers transported on routes to Western Europe.

    Most passengers fly to Italy and Germany

    The highest growth, of 290%, was recorded in Rome, followed by Milan with (224%), Stuttgart (208%), Dusseldorf (140%) and London (129%).

    The Serbian national airline estimates that the number of its passengers in August, the same as in July, will account for more than 55% of the total number of passengers travelling through Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade.

    „During August, we ranked first in the wider Balkan region when it comes to the weekly number of flights. Travelers recognize the benefits of our network of destinations and frequencies during the summer season, and continue to trust us, for which we are extremely grateful. We are confident that the trend of growth in the number of passengers on our company’s flights will continue in the coming period. All of the above motivates us to continue improving the offer, expanding it with new, attractive destinations,“ said Masa Vasovic, senior manager for revenue management of Air Serbia.
