OMICRON arrives in Serbia, first case confirmed
A new strain of the coronavirus, omicron, has been confirmed in Serbia.
This was confirmed by Tanja Jovanovic, a professor at the Faculty of Medicine and a member of the Crisis Staff.
According to the media, the omicron strain was confirmed in a person who arrived from Botswana, although she entered Serbia with a negative PCR test.
Control tests confirmed that the person was positive for the omicron strain of the coronavirus.
„The patient was in isolation. Control samples were taken and one was positive,“ Jovanovic explained.
She said that there was no reason to panic.
