GDP Council: 2021 was extremely successful for Serbia

In Serbia, 2021 is ending as an extremely successful year compared to the previous one, but special attention should be paid to energy, it was concluded at the joint session of the Council for Coordination of Activities and Measures for Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Growth and the Capital Investment Commission, chaired by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.

„This year is ending as an extremely successful year; 2021 was the year of recovery compared to the previous year marked by the pandemic, but special attention should be paid to the challenges that are ahead of us, which include energy, considering the complex situation in Europe,“ it was concluded at the session, as stated by the government’s Office for Cooperation with the Media.

It is added that „we should not ignore the fact that the spillover of import inflation from the surrounding countries cannot be completely influenced“.

Brnabic said that it was necessary to focus on the first quarter of next year and on planning capital projects worth more than five million euros.

When it comes to inflation, its slight increase is expected at the beginning of the year, but it is also expected to return to the planned level during the year, it was emphasized at the session.

Ministers, members of the Council for Coordination of Activities and Measures for GDP Growth, submitted, as stated, a report on realized projects and plans for the next year.
