OFFICIALLY, the number of employees in 2020 increased by almost 2 percent
The total number of employees in 2020 was 2,215,475, which is an increase of 1.9 percent compared to the previous year, according to data on registered employment announced by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia announced.
According to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, there were 1,764,127 employees in legal entities, which is an increase of 2.3 percent compared to the previous year.
There were 384,972 entrepreneurs and their employees, as well as persons who independently perform their activities, which is an increase of 2.0 percent compared to 2019.
There was a decrease in the number of registered individual farmers by 7.6 percent compared to 2019, and in 2020 there were a total of 66,376.
