Covid Hospital in Novi Sad, the third in Serbia, after Batajnica and Krusevac, was opened today, four months after the construction began.

As of today, the hospital will admit patients infected with the coronavirus.

The opening of the covid hospital was attended by Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic, who said that the equipment and care that could be provided to patients were at the maximum level, and that there was nothing more that any state could do and the healthcare system could provide to patients, in order to preserve their lives and health.

The amount of RSD 3.9 billion was invested in the construction of the hospital, and about 17 million in equipment, Prime Minister Brnabic said, according to an RTS report.

Director of the Clinical Centre of Vojvodina, Edita Stokic, says for RTS that the first patients of the new Covid hospital will be those who are now hospitalised in CCV. When it comes to health workers, she says that there are sufficient numbers of them to cover the capacities of the new hospital.
