NBS closes 90 exchange offices: IRREGULARITIES in operation detected
Due to various irregularities, the National Bank of Serbia has so far closed 90 exchange offices in Belgrade and Novi Sad for a period of 30 days.
A number of irregularities have been identified, not only in relation to the exchange rate range, but also in relation to the purchase and sale of cash outside working hours, as RTS TV was told by Bojan Terzic, Director General of the NBS Sector for the Protection of Financial Service Customers.
According to him, there was also a discrepancy between the available cash and dinars, and there were persons who did not have a certificate for work in exchange offices.
„All of this has resulted in us closing 90 exchange offices in Belgrade and Novi Sad for a period of 30 days,“ Terzic said.
The National Bank of Serbia will continue intensive control in the coming period, Terzic said, pointing out that the state wanted to show that the regulations were clear, that they had to be implemented and that the law applied to everyone.
