More than EIGHT MILLION overnight stays in Serbia: Vrnjacka Banja most visited

In August this year, a total of 466,436 tourists were registered in Serbia, which is 30.9 percent more than in August 2021, as well as a total of 1.66 million overnight stays, i.e. 21 percent more than in the same month last year, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia announced today.

In August this year, the number of foreign guests was higher by 50.8 percent (213,858) than in the same month last year, while there were 252,578 domestic tourists, i.e. 17.7 percent more than at the same time in 2021.

In August, domestic tourists achieved a total of 1.1 million overnight stays, which is 22.6 percent more than at the same time in 2021, while the number of overnight stays of foreign tourists increased by 18.1 percent, to 553,530.

The most visited of the spa centres in August were Vrnjacka Banja, Sokobanja, Vrdnik, Palic and Lukovska Banja, and among the mountain centres Zlatibor, Kopaonik, Fruska gora, Tara, Zlatibor and Divcibare.

In the first eight months of this year, a total of 2.5 million tourists were recorded in Serbia, or 49.9 percent more than in the same period last year, while a total of just over eight million overnight stays were recorded, which was 30.3 percent more than in 2021, the Statistical Office announced.
