Very important for Serbia as well“: Gas interconnector Bulgaria – Greece commissioned
A 182-km-long gas interconnector has been commissioned in Bulgaria, which will deliver gas from Azerbaijan to Greece, and this will provide the region with an alternative supply to Russian gas supplies.
At the opening, attended by senior officials from the region, as well as the presidents of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Azerbaijan, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic requested the same treatment for Serbia as for EU countries, due to high energy prices.
He congratulated the Bulgarian and Greek managers, adding that he regretted that „none of us believed the importance of this project“.
„This is very important for Serbia because we started the interconnector between Serbia and Bulgaria and it will be completed in a year and I hope that in 2023 at this time we will have a big ceremony in our country,“ Vucic said.
