More and more women in IT, only a quarter of them earn more than EUR 2,000

Throughout the history of technologies, the IT industry has not been very welcoming to women, however, the data of the biggest website for recruiting IT candidates HelloWorld.rs show that the situation on the labor market is changing and that every third candidate who is looking for a job is a member of the fairer sex.

In terms of salaries, there is still a clear difference, only 15% of women earn more than 2,000 euros, while almost twice as many men earn the same amount.

Information technologies are the fastest growing industry, and as such they face a huge deficit of quality labour force.

As Microsoft estimates, the number of employees in this industry could grow to 120,000 by 2025, which would mean that more women would choose to enter the world of information-communication technologies.

Ladies in IT earn more than 2,000 euros

When we talk about the IT market, the first association is high salaries. In the ratio of salaries between men and women, we can see a clear imbalance. Only 15% of women earn more than 2,000 euros, while 30% of men earn the same amount.

The fact that most women candidates are applying for internship in IT shows that a lot of ladies have no work experience.

What motivates women at work?

The „Pulse of the Serbian IT Community“ survey in terms of job satisfaction shows that 82 percent of respondents expressed satisfaction with their job. When we consider this data, we can see that the vast majority are satisfied, and satisfaction is definitely influenced by the benefits of IT employees.

In terms of what benefits are most important to them, both for men and women, the first three places are reserved for flexible working hours, work from home as well as education/training.
