„Morava“ building the SECOND runway, looking for a contractor

„Vojnogradjevinska ustanova Beograd“ has announced the procurement of works for the design and construction of the second runway on the „Morava“ airport, in total length of 2,265 metres, through a negotiated procedure without a public call for bidding. The tender documentation states that drafting of technical documentation is necessary for the purpose of including the „Morava“ airport in civil air traffic, given that the airport mainly served as a military one. „It is necessary to carry out field exploration works with associated geodetic works, as well as other supporting works for the preparation of technical documentation, in order to issue an airport certificate,“ the competition stipulates. The deadline for preparation of the preliminary design is 10 days after the signing of the agreement, the last day of December is the deadline for the preparation of technical documentation and geodetic measurements, while the preparation of the preliminary design must be completed by January 31st, 2020 at the latest. According to necessary tender requirements that need to be fulfilled by the bidders, they had to complete construction works on manoeuvring areas worth at least RSD 500 million prior to the announcement of a call for this public procurement. According to earlier media reports, the Serbian government adopted a decision to allocate RSD 155 million from the budget for the construction of a new runway, since the existing one was built for lightweight military aircrafts.
