Minister offers a hand of reconciliation to engineers
Serbian Minister of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic has invited engineers today to work together with the Government and Ministry she oversees on projects in the new investment cycle of more than five billion euros in infrastructure, which will be launched next year.
„There is plenty of space to be much more efficient in the field of infrastructure, and that is only possible if we work together, both the Government and the University, and that is why I invite you to work together,“ Mihajlovic has said at the ceremonial assembly, on the occasion of 20th anniversary of the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Serbia (AESS).
As a joint result, Mihajlovic has stated that the stake of construction in gross domestic product (GDP) has increased from less than 3 percent to 5.5 percent in four years.
„I do not want us to ever again get in the position to confiscate engineers’ licences, as project engineers did not visit construction sites. Let bygones be bygones, as a new investment cycle worth more than five billion euros is in front of us, in which we should work together, because it is not possible to achieve desirable results without your experience and knowledge,“ Mihajlovic has said.
The Academy of Engineering Sciences of Serbia (AEES) gathers prominent engineers and scientists in the field of engineering sciences, for the purpose of developing technical sciences and their applications in economy.
