Members of trade unions: Mercedes, Porsche and others will hear about MOBBING in Leskovac based Jura
The President of the Independent Trade Union of Serbian Metalworkers, Zoran Markovic, stated that this trade union would complain to the European business partners of the Jura Corporation, for obstructing the trade union organization in the Leskovac based plant and mobbing president of the trade union of that plant.
Markovic told reporters in Leskovac that this trade union had complained to all competent authorities in Serbia, i.e. they had requested a meeting with Jura’s management, a meeting with the Inspectorate, and had written to the Minister of Labour, Darija Kisic Tepavcevic.
He added that they addressed the European and world association of metalworkers’ unions, which responded and asked Jura to, as he said, end with pressure. „And now we have the next step – writing to all the main partners, those who take parts from Jura, and those are Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, etc. Asking them also help in exercising workers’ rights because they also have unions,“ Markovic announced.
He explained that the President of the Trade Union Organization in Leskovac based Jura, Predrag Stojanovic, received two warnings from Jura’s manager in the last couple of days, because he talked to the local media about pressure under which the workers are and non-renewal of employment contracts for workers.
Members of the trade union also called out the so-called Employees’ Council at Jura, which acts as the „South Korea for South Serbia“ Association, accusing the council’s representatives of discrimination.
„Their decision from April 1st, 2021, that workers who are members of a trade union organization and who do not support the association, lose the right to benefits obtained on the basis of membership in that association, is – discriminatory,“ Markovic evaluated.
