Ljajic for the Albanian TV channel: The purchase of Telekom is not a threat
The purchase of Albanian Telekom by Telekom Srbija would not pose any threat, Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Lajic told TV Klan based in Tirana.
„I have not heard in a while that a high official has eliminated a buyer in any statement. We hope that the decision will be economic, not political,“ Lajic added.
The Klan TV states that Telekom Srbija still hopes to find a market in Albania.
The report of this television channel says that the offer of Serbian Telekom has not yet received the official response, despite political tensions over the possible purchase and opposition of the authorities in Tirana and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The Klan TV also refers to the idea of a common market and reports Lajic’s statement that this cannot be achieved by protectionism or refusals.
The Klan TV states that there are many Serbian investors who are interested in building hotels on the Albanian coast, and that Minister Lajic stated that we should view each other as partners, rather than as enemies, in order to enable economic growth, because our countries have smaller markets.
