
Inflation in Serbia higher than EU average
In May, June and July this year, Serbia had higher YoY inflation than the average of the European Union, but it was lower than in some EU members – in May compared to 12 members, and in June and July compared to 10 members, according to the latest edition of the newsletter Macroeconomic Analyses and Trends of the Economic Institute and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
In May, June and July, YoY inflation in Serbia was 10.1%, 11.6% and 12.5% respectively, and in the European Union 8.8%, 9.6% and 9.8%.
Compared to Serbia, YoY inflation was higher in May in the Netherlands – 10.2%, Greece – 10.5%, Croatia – 10.7%, Hungary – 10.8%, Slovakia – 11.8%, Romania – 12.4%, Poland – 12.8%, Bulgaria – 13.4%, the Czech Republic – 15.2%, Latvia – 16.8%, Lithuania – 18.5% and Estonia – 20.1%.
Higher inflation in June compared to Serbia was recorded in Croatia – 12.1%, Hungary – 12.6%, Slovakia – 12.6%, Romania – 13.0%, Poland – 14.2%, Bulgaria – 14.8%, the Czech Republic – 16.6%, Latvia – 19.2%, Lithuania – 20.5% and Estonia – 22.0%.
Higher July inflation than in Serbia was recorded in Croatia – 12.7%, Slovakia – 12.8%, Romania – 3.0%, Poland – 14.2%, Hungary – 14.7%, Bulgaria – 14.9%, the Czech Republic – 17.3%, Lithuania – 20.9%, Latvia – 21.3% and Estonia – 23.2%.
