First 5G highway in Serbia: Flood control on Morava Corridor
The British export credit agency UK Export Finance (UKEF) has secured a loan of 430 million euros for the construction of a 5G highway in Serbia.
The project of building the Morava Corridor (E-761) has thus become the first project in Serbia that will use the support of the world’s oldest export credit agency, it was announced today by the British Embassy in Belgrade.
The Morava Corridor is planned to connect Pojate and Preljina and to be one of the most modern roads in the region with the latest telecommunication equipment, signalization and flood control technology, i.e. environmental protection systems.
„This announcement is confirmation that we are working to strengthen the future-oriented relations between the United Kingdom and Serbia. The United Kingdom has vast experience and expertise not only in road construction, but also in sectors such as railway innovation and green energy. These sectors are crucial for the future development of Serbia and the wider region of the Western Balkans,“ said British Ambassador to Serbia, Sian MacLeod.
