Faster to Milos the Great along a new section: This is when NBG– Surcin road will be opened
The section of the highway from Novi Beograd to Surcin, 7.9 kilometres long, will be built by March 31, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced today.
While touring the works on that section, he said that it would shorten the road from Belgrade to Milos the Great Highway by about 20 kilometres.
The works on the section will cost 58 million euros and they are financed from the Serbian budget, and the main contractor is the Chinese company China Communication Construction Company.
Vucic thanked Chinese and Serbian workers for completing an important highway within the deadline.
„This is an important section of the highway, it will save people’s time and shorten their journey to Cacak, Uzice, Pozega, Ub, Lazarevac and many other places. This is almost over, there are 500 meters left to be constructed,“ Vucic said.
He added that great results were expected this year that would change the image of Serbia.
The road has three lanes in each direction and two-sided bicycle and pedestrian paths with a width of two meters.
Chinese Ambassador Chen Bo said that infrastructure was the main area of cooperation between China and Serbia and that Chinese companies had great confidence in the Serbian market.
„We are ready to continue to expand cooperation that contributes to the growth of the Serbian economy,“ she said.
