EPS’s Director achieves goal: In 2023, EUR 49 million from electricity export XXXX

Acting Director of Elektroprivreda Srbije, Miroslav Tomasevic, has said that Serbia has exported electricity for 49 million euros since the beginning of the year, and that the overhauls have been contracted and they started.

„I fulfilled my task, to return EPS to good condition after many problems together with my team,“ Miroslav Tomasevic, acting director of Elektroprivreda Srbije told the members of the Supervisory Board, whom he also informed about the beginning of the overhaul season.

As stated in the information published on the EPS website, Tomasevic said at the session of the Supervisory Board that the goal was achieved.

„We have achieved the goal. Thanks to a relatively mild winter, a good hydrological situation, but also the readiness of thermal power plants, we have raised the system and we now export electricity. In March alone, the earnings from electricity export amounted to 32.5 million euros, and since the beginning of the year they have reached 49 million euros,“ Tomasevic said.

He stated that the import of coal additionally secured the system, and that currently the coal dumps were full, especially in Kostolac.

„In total, 1,770,000 tons of coal are currently in the EPS thermal power plant landfills, which has not been recorded in recent years,“ he said.

Tomasevic said that the overhaul season had begun, and that all projects had been contracted. „At the meeting, we also informed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) about all results and plans, as well as about why EPS does not pose a financial risk,“ Tomasevic said.
