City of Belgrade becomes co-owner of Yumko and Simpo SIK

In January this year, the Assembly of the City of Belgrade made a decision on the conversion of its receivables on the basis of unpaid original and shared public revenues into a permanent share in the capital of Vranje-based Yumko and Simpo SIK based in Kursumlija.

With these decisions, the City of Belgrade has joined the numerous owners of the above-mentioned factories, which include the Republic of Serbia, the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, Health Insurance Fund of the Republic of Serbia, and the National Employment Service. There is also the City of Vranje, which wrote off a debt of RSD 1.6 billion of Simpo and Yumko by conversion, reports Infovranjske.rs.

The converted receivables of the City of Belgrade from Yumko rose in the period from June 30, 2020 to May 26, 2021. Including the corresponding interest until September 30, 2021, they amount to RSD 1,782,602.

The converted receivables of the City of Belgrade from Simpo SIK on August 26, 2021 amounted to RSD 679,236.

In the structure of Yumko’s debts to the City of Belgrade, in the specified period, the biggest item is the property tax, in the amount of RSD 1.2 million. It is followed by public utility fee of RSD 300,000, and the fee for the use of construction land of RSD 344,000.

However, Simpo SIK owes only the property tax to the City of Belgrade for the specified period in the entire amount of the capital’s receivables from this Kursumlija-based company.

At the end of its decisions to abolish its receivables from Yumko and Simpo SIK, the Assembly of the City of Belgrade concluded „that it will make an entry in the Central Registry of Securities in the amount of the total receivables“.
