Air Serbia to offer flights from the „Morava“ airport

Air Serbia will commence flights from Kraljevo based „Morava“ airport, after winning a tender to carry out scheduled air services „on routes of public interest“. The Serbian airline was the sole bidder at the tender and it will receive EUR 5.63 million over the next three years in order to maintain year-round flights to Vienna and seasonal summer flights to Thessaloniki, web portal EX-YU Aviation reports. Air Serbia will conduct a total of 300 return flights to Vienna for the duration of the subsidy contract. A total of EUR 3.32 million has been allocated for that route. A total of 184 return services will be run from Kraljevo to Thessaloniki, for which the Serbian carrier will receive EUR 2.25 million. Air Serbia will receive the remaining EUR 50.174 to cover operational start-up costs at „Morava“ airport. Primary flights towards Vienna will be operational during the entire year, starting with December 1st, 2019, while Thessaloniki route will be seasonal and it should commence by mid-March 2020. Airline traffic towards both destinations, Vienna and Thessaloniki respectively, will be available three times a week. All flights from Kraljevo will be maintained with the regional ATR72 turboprop aircraft.
