What will happen to the Sava Centre?

Delta Holding’s Vice President Zivorad Vasic said today that, according to his estimation, the negotiations between the company and the City of Belgrade about the renovation of the Sava Centre were nearly completed and that he hoped that they would be completed in the next two months.

„We are negotiating with the City of Belgrade, negotiations are, according to my estimate, nearly completed, and we understand very well what the city is asking for, and the City understands what we are looking for,“ Vasic said.

As he explained, the Sava Centre is in a „very difficult financial situation, which is arising not only from the fact that taxes have not been paid for a long time, but also from other factors.“

„It will be a private-public partnership where Delta will run the congress centre and get a 49 percent stake, while the City of Belgrade will get 51 percent,“ he said.

According to Vasic, it is necessary to invest between 25 and 30 million euros in renovation, „so that it would become the congress centre that is the best in Southeast Europe and among the best in Europe“.
