„We will save thousands of lives“: The Prime Minister attended arrival of 500,000 doses of Chinese vaccines
A new contingent of half a million vaccines from the Chinese company Sinopharm has arrived at the „Nikola Tesla“ airport.
The „Air Serbia“ plane landed at the airport around 8:50 p.m., and was welcomed by the Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Chinese Ambassador Chen Bo. Brnabic expressed gratitude to China, the President of China and the Ambassador for the support they provide to Serbia and the people of Serbia in fight against the coronavirus.
„Thank you for this amount of vaccines. Today, when we greet this contingent of 500,000 vaccines, it means that we have a million and a half Sinopharm vaccines in Serbia. That helped us to be the second country in Europe when it comes to the number of vaccinated and seventh in the world. With this amount of vaccines we will be able to save thousands and thousands of lives. We have managed to save and will save thousands of lives. That is why I am overjoyed,“ said the Prime Minister.
In the middle of last month, China delivered the first contingent of one million doses of Sinopharm vaccines to Serbia.
By the way, 50,000 „Sputnik V“ vaccines for the first dose arrived in Serbia on Tuesday, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, announced that another 50,000 would arrive in the next 15 days for the second dose.
By the end of February, Serbia will receive another 88,000 doses of the Pfizer- BioNTech vaccine, but also the AstraZeneca vaccine, between 125,000 and 150,000 doses, by February 20th, for which a contract has been signed.
