Vesic paints over graffiti in Belgrade, he announces how much this COSTS THE CITY

Today, Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic attended the mechanical removal of the graffiti in the underground passage at Zeleni venac, announcing the reconstruction of the area.

Vesic pointed out that this year alone, the City of Belgrade had allocated about 1 million euros for the removal of graffiti from Belgrade’s streets.

„Unfortunately, for that amount we could have built half a kindergarten, i.e. in two years we lost one kindergarten. The message to all citizens is not to write graffiti and to protect the capital. We will thus save money, and our city will be more beautiful,“ said Vesic.

He pointed out that new graffiti removal machines had been procured, as well as the anti-graffiti paint, which prevented the drawing of new ones.

„The regulations have been changed, so that now all investors have the obligation to have anti-graffiti paint on the facades up to two meters high, which enables each new graffito to be removed with plain water,“ the deputy mayor said.

When it comes to the reconstruction of the underground passage at Zeleni venac, Vesic announced its reconstruction immediately after the completion of the underground passage at Terazije.

The event was attended by Secretary for Defence, Emergency Situations, Communications and Coordination of Relations with Citizens Darko Glavas and the teams of the Public Utility Company „Beograd-put“.
