Vesic announces transit routes for trucks to preserve local roads
Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesic has announced the introduction of transit routes for trucks, in order to preserve roads.
He told Pink TV that transit routes would be on highways, and that drivers of foreign trucks would be prevented from using local roads instead of highways in order no to pay tolls.
He added that such cases of „getting off“ the highway were especially recorded near the Sid and Batrovci crossings with Croatia.
Vesic said that drivers of domestic trucks, „for the sake of savings“, often load vehicles with a higher load than allowed and he announced that their load capacity would be controlled with automatic scales.
