They minimized coronavirus: This country INVITES Serbs on a holiday trip
Egypt is a safe destination for tourists because strict measures have reduced the number of coronavirus cases in the most popular resorts to a minimum, Egyptian government officials said in Belgrade.
According to them, the goal of their visit was to confirm Egypt’s political will for friendship and cooperation with Serbia and to encourage tourists to spend New Year’s holidays in that country.
Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ghada Shalaby, told reporters at a meeting at the ambassador’s residence that the number of cases of coronavirus infection in the most popular resorts in Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh had been reduced to a minimum owing to strict measures.
„No case of infection has been recorded among Serbian tourists who were in Egypt. The ministry is implementing strict measures, and for those who did not have the opportunity to be tested in their countries, testing has been provided at the airports at tourist destinations (in Egypt) since September 1, and visitors wait for the results in quarantine for a maximum of 24 hours,“ she said.
Egyptian officials met with Serbian Parliament Speaker Ivica Dacic, and a day earlier with the representatives of travel agencies.
They talked with the representatives of the agencies about the benefits that Egypt provided to tourists, such as the abolition of fees for granting tourist visas and the possibility of testing tourists for the coronavirus when arriving at airports in tourist cities.
In addition, airlines have been granted exemptions from landing fees and reduced fuel prices in Egypt.
