The Ministry has announced a small business support competition

Today, The Ministry of Economy of Serbia announced a public invitation for a program of grants to small businesses for the purchase of new machines and production equipment, with the total value of 556 million euros.

„Taking into account the needs of the economy, this year the maximum amount of the grant that a company can get for the purchase of equipment, doubled from 2.5 million to five million dinars. Also, business people are allowed to compete for this grant, regardless of whether they have already been beneficiaries of state funds on some other basis or program in the previous period, “ the Ministry of Economy announced in a statement.

Banks that will credit the purchase of machinery and equipment will not seek other means of security other than stock on purchased goods.

When purchasing equipment, grants consist of 25 percent of the total value, the participation of the entrepreneur is 5 percent, and another 70 percent of the loan of the partner financial institutions.

The program is implemented in cooperation with five banks and one leasing company: Postal Savings Bank, Credit Agrikol Bank, Halkbank, Eurobank, Prokredit Bank and Rajfajzen Leasing.

In 2017, the proposal included 425 requests from businessmen, out of which 396 were approved. In the next two years, 1,630 people will be employed with the implementation of this, advised the Ministry of Economy.

For this program, companies that are engaged in the production of food, metal structures, textiles and clothing, wood processing, rubber and plastics, printing, furniture production, items made of paper and paperboard, construction products are the ones most interested in this program.
