    Leoni opened a new plant in Nis

    German company Leoni, a manufacturer of optical fibers and cables, opened a new plant in Nis, which plans to employ 1,123 workers.

    The plant where the car cables will be produced is on about 20,000 square meters of space, and about 22 million Euros have been invested in it. The state helped to open the plant by buying land for the construction and by paying the subsidies to Leonie.

    The plan is to employ 2,200 people by the end of the year, counting the current workers of Leoni in Nis.

    Leoni opened the first factory in Prokuplje, Serbia in 2009, then in 2014 in Malosiste in the municipality of Doljevac, and last year in Nis. With the opening of the factory in Kraljevo, next year, Leoni will become the largest employer in Serbia, with more than 11,000 employees.
