The Competition Protection Commission has approved to Telekom Srbija the purchase of another cable operator

The Competition Protection Commission has said that it has approved to Telekom Srbija the purchase of the cable operator Masko based in Belgrade.

Telekom was allowed the purchase of a 100% stake in Masko, which was owned by Momcilo Djuricic, according to the website of the Commission.

Masko provided its customers, exclusively on the territory of Belgrade, with the services of cable television, cable access to the Internet and landline telephony, and in 2017 it had a total revenue of about 90 million dinars.

At the beginning of November 2018, Telekom Srbija bought the cable operator Kopernikus, and in January this year, two cable operators, Radijus Vektor and Avcom.

The representatives of the company then announced that they were negotiating about the purchase of five smaller cable operators, which is part of the development strategy „Million plus“, whose goal is for the national telecommunication operator to reach one million users of television and the Internet services.

The majority owner of Telekom Srbija is the state, which owns 58.1% of capital, 20% is owned by Telekom, and the rest is owned by small shareholders, citizens and employees who received free shares.
