Teatar na Brdu Theatre: We have tried everything, but…
On the occasion of the cessation of work, the Teatar na Brdu Theatre has announced that at the invitation of the municipality they have come to create a new theatre and thus raise the entire cultural scene of Cukarica to a higher level, and that they have tried everything to stay and continue with their plans, but that they are shocked by the decision on the termination of the contract with the Cukarica Cultural Centre.
It is stated that they always timely paid contractual obligations in the total amount of about nine million dinars, that they renovated the wardrobe with their funds and personally urged the Secretariat for Culture and the Mayor of Belgrade to install a cooling device for the entire hall.
“We addressed everyone we knew and did everything we could to protect the unusual rise of the youngest theatre in Serbia, but no one could tell us the reasons for this situation, nor could anyone help us. We have been taken aback by this decision and forced to inform you of our departure,” the statement says.
It is pointed out that some of the biggest theatre performers in Serbia have performed on this stage, such as Petar Bozovic, Zoran Cvijanovic, Natasa Ninkovic, Nikola Djuricko, Mirjana Karanovic, Svetlana Bojkovic, Branko Djuric and others.
