
Serbia’s gaming industry ranks first in Europe by number of women
The growing gaming industry in Serbia employs about 2,300 professionals and accounts for about 125 million euros a year, and it is also characterized by a large percentage of women of 30 percent, which puts Serbia first in Europe, according to Playstudios Europe and the Association of the Video Game Industry of Serbia.
It is added that the European average for women in the gaming industry is 22%.
The Association of the Video Game Industry of Serbia (SGA) says that domestic games have been downloaded or purchased more than 370 million times, and in terms of genres, the leaders in domestic production are RPG games, accounting for 19 percent.
They also state that the mobile game industry is further growing with the increasing popularity of the so-called „casual“ games, accounting for 18 percent, and they are intended to be fun, simple and easy to install.
