Serbian StartIt is the first Google’s partner in Europe

Technological giant Gugl offered the first partnership to the Startit accelerator in Europe.

The Startit organization founded in 2010, whose main goal is to provide all types of support to the domestic startup community, and primarily transfer knowledge, has a unique opportunity to partner with one of the most valuable global companies in this venture, especially in the field of cooperation and development of startups.

The first step of this cooperation was the recently held intensive five-day program for startups, in which they exchanged knowledge with 25 of Google’s and 35 of our experts. Google Launchpad Start was organized from 9th to 13th of April at the Startit Center in Novi Sad, one of eight spaces that this organization has throughout Serbia.

Launchpad start is aimed at startups at an early stage, which want to make progress. Ten young teams were selected, and the most important condition for participation was to have a product, even its early version, told Zoja Kukic and Vukasin Stojkov, founders of Startit.

On Launchpad, starters could learn about product strategy and business development, user experience, technologies, as well as marketing and product presentation skills, which is one of the most important and neglected aspects in the early stages of startup development.

The primary connection with Gugl came through the Serbian community from the cradle of the IT industry – San Francisco, which wants to help our people, companies and organizations, so Startit got the opportunity to enter into talks with Google’s experts.

Google began working with selected business accelerators and organizing startup courses around the world. Serbia, led by Startit, is the first partner in Europe and one of ten partners in the world, says Stojkov.

This kind of partnership will enable our beginners in IT business to make direct contact with Google.

Their experts will really come here and all the base of their knowledge will be available to home-made startups, which on one hand means the improvement of our community, and on the other hand, it shows how much our startup scene essentially stands out in comparison to others.

There is no reliable information about the size of the startup of the community, but let’s say that it makes about five thousand, who found it and work in the startups in Serbia. We have about 15,000 developers in our country, while a total of about 20,000-30,000 employees work in IT companies, says Zoja Kukic.

She adds that, according to estimates, only 200 startups were created during 2017, writes BLIC.
