Serbia ATTRACTS INVESTMENTS: More than 70,000 people work in German companies
Based on the initial estimates, Serbia had a growth of gross domestic product (GDP) of eight percent in the first six months of this year, and that is a fantastic result, said President Aleksandar Vucic.
Vucic said that Serbia attracted EUR 1.72 billion of foreign direct investments in the first half of the year, which is almost 19 percent more than last year.
During a visit to the engineering centre at the German company ZF (ZF Friedrichshafen AG) in Pancevo, he pointed out that he believes such growth trend of foreign investments will continue until the end of the year.
„Majority of investments come from Germany,“ he said, adding that at the time he became prime minister, 17,000 people worked in German companies, and today there are 71,000.
He pointed out that this would not have happened if German companies had not recognized Serbia as a good location for their business activities.
