RTB Bor might remain in Serbian hands
The privatization documentation for “Rudarsko-topionicarski basen Bor” has also been purchased by the company of “copper king” of the Balkans, Milan Popovic.
Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economy Dragan Stevanovic has stated that so far seven companies have purchased documents for privatization of RTB Bor, and as B92 reveals one of them is the company Red Metal, owned by businessman Milan Popovic.
This is not the first time that Popovic shows interest in RTB Bor, as he was also mentioned earlier as a possible buyer, B92 reveals. Officials of the company Red Metal have stated with B92 they are not prepared to provide any statements regarding the tender.
Secretary of State Stevanovic, while talking about privatization of Bor based collective, said on Tuesday that based on global economic trends and experience with “Zelezara Smederevo” Chinese could be the most serious bidders.
He added that this will however depend on offers that will be opened on August 20th. “Whoever provides the best offer for both the company and state will be a strategic partner through recapitalization,” Stevanovic stated.
