    Pastry slowly rises in price

The prices of some types of loaves and pastriesin Serbian bakeries and in supermarkets have grown since the beginning of2019, reports the Novosti daily.
Day in, day out, special types of bread inSerbian bakeries are getting more and more expensive. In addition to loaves, the prices of pastries are slowly also growing. Compared to the beginning ofthe year, some types of bread increased in price by at least 20 percent.
Producers justify price increase by the higherprice of wheat, flour, but also higher costs of fuel, water, electricity…
The increase is mostly reflected in breadprepared from the flour of various grains and oilseed crops, enriched withvarious ingredients such as whole seeds, bran, cereals, grain sprouts, spices…
The cheapest package of such a bread of 300grams used to cost RSD 100, and now the price is at least RSD 120. For the samepackage of enriched types of bread, some bakeries now charge up to RSD300.
According to President of the Union of Bakers ofSerbia, Zoran Pralica, the increases in price are a result of the growthin wheat prices on the market. According to him, grain for bead rose in pricefrom RSD 16 to RSD 23 and there are also other price increases, says Pralica.
Fuel prices have also risen, our bills forwater, electricity, gas are also higher…
Thus, this has to reflect on our product. Hesays that despite all this, Serbia has the cheapest bread in the region.
