New regulations are being prepared: Public procurement only as e-procurement

As of mid-2020, all public procurement procedures in Serbia will be conducted exclusively in electronic form, via new Public Procurement Portal. This is the most important novelty of the Law on Public Procurements that should be included in the parliamentary procedure in spring, the „Blic“ daily newspaper reports.

„Transparency Serbia“ reports that other countries’ experiences show that e-communication in public procurement can be one of the means of battling corruption, because it reduces the possibility of manipulation of documents sent by the bidders, and it also facilitates inspection of regularity of submitted documentation on tenders.

The Ministry of Finance states that electronic public procurement procedure is being implemented today as well, but not completely.
