    Nemanja Vidic is candidate for Premier League Hall of Fame

    Nemanja Vidic, a longtime captain of Manchester United, together with 14 other former aces, is on the list of candidates for the Premier League Hall of Fame.

    The strongest league in the world has published a list of 15 candidates, including, in addition to Vidic, Tony Adams, Sol Campbell, Michael Kerrick, Petr Cech, Andrew „Andy“ Cole, Ashley Cole, Jermain Defoe, Les Ferdinand, Rio Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, Gary Neville, Michael Owen, John Terry and Yaya Toure.

    The Premier League announced that Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger were the first “residents” of the Hall of Fame among the coaches.

    In the past two years, since the Premier League established this recognition, the Hall of Fame has featured famous players Steven Gerard, Frank Lampard, Dennis Bergkamp, David Beckham, Roy Keane, Eric Cantona, Terry Henri, Alan Shearer (2021), Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompani, Didier Drogba, Paul Scholes, Peter Schmeichel, Ian Wright, Wayne Rooney and Patrick Vieira (2022).

    After the voting, out of 15 candidates, eight other players will be in the company of the chosen ones.

    Nemanja Vidic played in United from 2006 to 2014, playing in 300 matches, scoring 21 goals.

    With Manchester, he won the Champions League, the World Club Championship, five championships of England, three FA Cups, five Communist Shields. He was elected four times to the ideal team of the Premier League, and he was twice named the player of the season.
