Neighbors are waiting for Serbian cereals, but they are also looking for alternatives
Montenegrin Agriculture Minister Aleksandar Stijovic has said that Montenegro has sent Serbia data on the required quantities of flour, oil and cereals at a monthly and six-monthly level.
As he says, Montenegro expects a decision by the Serbian government, but is also looking for alternatives on other markets.
According to him, Montenegro’s needs for wheat are about 50,000 tons for six months, including the need for grinding flour, and 35,000 tons of flour as an alternative to wheat for the same period.
“About 3,000 tons of corn for the population, about 20,000 tons for fodder, and about 3,000 kilolitres of edible oil. All this is valid for the six-month period,“ said Stijovic.
The minister told Podgorica-based Vijesti that he had talked with Serbian Agriculture Minister Branislav Nedimovic.
„We expect a decision of the Government of Serbia. We hope that Montenegro will be officially exempt from the export ban as early as next week,“ Stijovic pointed out.
